In 2002, YWAM built a center on land in Stung Treng town. This was to provide education and leisure activities to assist in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development of youth aged 12-24 years old. It is well known that boredom is a key factor in increasing ‘at risk’ activities and the transmission of HIV, and the centre is open 6 days a week to provide a place for recreation.
The centre provides sport facilities, a library and learning centre for the town youth, where they can learn English, computer, music, baking, crafts, dance and drama and join the meetings at the church. Thousands of young people have come over the years. We believe the youth will go on to lead others and their nation in different capacities.
